Parents Against Drug Dealing (PADD), Inc. was founded by Gary and Patty Miller after they lost their son, Donnie, to a drug overdose from years of struggling with drug addiction. The Millers wanted to do something to keep this from happening to other families. With the support of family members, friends, and local community leaders, they organized a group to help bring about awareness to this problem.

In spring of 2004, PADD began having community meetings, and now the organization has over 350 active members.
